The Spur Montrose Night Challenge is an exciting event running for the past 15 years, which sees u/13 kids from 16 school cricket teams and 25 netball teams take to field for the Championship title.
The Spur Montrose Night Challenge is an event that has been running for the past 15 years since its inception in 2005. As the title sponsor, Spur is extremely proud to be associated with this spirited event that has been growing from strength to strength.
The Montrose Night Challenge sees u/13 kids from 16 school cricket teams and 25 school netball teams battle it out over seven consecutive Fridays for the championship title.
Three development cricket teams and one development netball team take part in this signature Spur schools’ sporting event. The development teams consist of the best players from Soweto, Alexandra, Kagiso and Lenasia.
This event has gained momentum and interest from schools around Johannesburg and continues to reach new heights every year. The event also draws thousands of spectators and families annually, all cheering on their favourite teams.
The finals were held on 13 March 2020, which saw scouts from Cricket South Africa attend to experience the immense talent that this tournament holds.
