Spur in partnership with the Springbok Supporters Club provide an opportunity for 20 boys and girls aged 8-12 years to become an on-field flag bearer during the national anthem at every inbound Springbok rugby game.
Spur Steak Ranches, in partnership with the Springbok Supporters’ Club, has acquired the rights for the flag bearer activations at all inbound international rugby test matches. These activations provide an opportunity for 20 boys and girls aged from 8 to 12 years, to become on-field flag bearers during the national anthem at every inbound Springbok rugby game.
The lucky boys and girls are chosen at random from our online flag bearer competition entries. Spur receives an immense number of these entries, which highlights just how much children admire our national rugby team.
On match day, prior to kick-off, all the flag bearers and their families congregate at a Spur restaurant for a delicious free lunch and receive their branded goodies and clothing to wear on the day. The flag bearers are then taken to the stadium to prepare for the activation. As soon as the match starts and their duties are complete, the flag bearers return to their parents in the stands, with tickets for the match also provided by Spur. All in all, it’s an immensely fun-filled and exhilarating family outing for the whole family!
If you would like your child to stand a chance to be a Spur Flag Bearer, keep an eye out on our website and social media pages for the dates of the next Spur Flag Bearer competition.
