Updated review: My fiancé and I had a fantastic experience this past Saturday compared to our first time at Golden Bay Spur on the 28th of January 2024. The manger, Donald, invited us back to the restaurant after our bad experience. This time the service was fantastic, food was excellent and overall experience was very pleasant. Our waitress, Monalisa, was incredibly friendly and very helpful. We will definitely be back to visit Golden Bay Spur again. First review: From start to finish we had a terrible experience at this Spur. We were seated at a table that was not wiped down (water marks and pieces of food still on the table). We ordered food and drinks all at once so that we didn't have to wait so long. Our waiter brought the kiddie meal for my little sister before the drinks were even at our table. After about 10 min our drinks we brought by a different waiter which then resumed with us for the rest of the duration at Spur. He did not introduce himself or explain why we had a change of waiter. Nearly 30 min went by before my boyfriend and I received our food. My order was incorrect, as I ordered a double burger and they brought a single. I sent it back as I wanted the correct meal. After waiting 20 min we called the floor manager to ask what was happening and she went to check. About 10 min later she finally brought my food. Our waiter did not once come and check up on us or asked if we needed anything while we were eating, which they always do at other Spurs. Our waiter kept on walking past us, but the empty plates were not taken multiple times. Eventually the floor manager came to collect them. It took another 10 min for the bill to arrive at our table once we asked for it, which was then also incorrect. They ended up charging us for the double and single burger (which they made the mistake of). The waiter took it to be corrected and said someone will bring the correct bill. Surprise, surprise, after several minutes again, we still had no bill, and the waiter ignored us once again. We proceeded to go ask for the bill at the front desk where the store manager (I'm assuming) helped us, and could then also not get the correct bill. After another 5 min, we were finally able to pay. Please note that the store was not packed and busy, hence I do not understand how things could have taken so long the whole time. This was a terrible experience at Golden Bay Spur compared to the fantastic service we've received at other Spurs (Canal Walk, N1 City, V&A, Tygervalley).
